Level 1 Fire Safety Officer Training

The training course Fire Safety Officers - Level 1_FOR is aimed at workers who are part of the emergency team in a workplace classified as Low Risk for fire safety purposes.

Fire Safety Officers must attend specific courses as required by Ministerial Decree 2/9/2021, which outlines three training levels: 1_FOR (formerly Low Risk), 2_FOR (formerly Medium Risk), 3_FOR (formerly High Risk).

The determination of the risk level, which allows for identifying the most appropriate course for emergency team members, stems from the fire risk analysis conducted by the Employer (DdL) together with their consultants, including the Head of the Prevention and Protection Service (RSPP), also considering the provisions set out in points 3.2.2, 3.2.3, and 3.2.4 of Annex III of Ministerial Decree 2/9/2021.

Our fire safety training courses cover the content outlined in Annex III of Ministerial Decree 2/9/2021, including a theoretical component and a practical exercise in extinguishing a small fire using extinguishers.

At the end of the course, a learning assessment test will be conducted for the issuance of the Fire Safety Officer - Level 1_FOR certificate. The certificate is valid for five years, after which a refresher training course will be required.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The course is aimed at members of fire emergency teams for workplaces classified as Level 1 (formerly Low Risk) as per Ministerial Decree 2/9/2021, such as:

• workplaces not included in the list of those classified as Level 2 or 3 and, in general, where the substances present and operating conditions offer little possibility of fire development and where there is no likelihood of flame propagation.

PROGRAM

1) FIRE AND PREVENTION

• principles of combustion;
• products of combustion;
• extinguishing agents in relation to the type of fire;
• effects of fire on humans;
• prohibitions and operational limitations;
• Behavioral measures.

2) FIRE PROTECTION AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

• main fire protection measures;
• evacuation in case of fire;
• calling emergency services.

3) PRACTICAL EXERCISES

• familiarization and clarification on portable fire extinguishers;
• practical exercises on the use of portable fire extinguishers;
• familiarization with the fire safety logbook, clarification, and practical exercise on surveillance activities.
