Supervisor Safety Training

According to Article 37 of Legislative Decree 81/2008, workers designated as Safety Supervisors must receive specific training aimed at providing all the necessary knowledge to correctly perform their duties. The State-Regions Agreement of April 17, 2025, defines the minimum content and delivery methods for the courses, establishing that training for Safety Supervisors fully replaces that provided for workers.

The course is conducted in person and has a minimum duration of 12 hours.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The course is aimed at all workers who are designated by the employer as Safety Supervisors within their company.

PROGRAM

LEGAL AND REGULATORY MODULE

Learning objectives

• To familiarize participants with the role and obligations of the supervisor and their relationship with other company prevention figures.

Module contents

• Identification of the supervisor;
• De facto supervisor and effectiveness of the role;
• Duties and obligations of the supervisor;
• Relationships between the various internal and external parties of the prevention system.

‍SAFETY MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION MODULE

Learning objectives

• To acquire the skills to: supervise, monitor, stop activities, inform, report;
• To illustrate how to cooperate effectively with the employer and managers to implement operational procedures.

Module contents

• Methods for exercising the supervisory function of workers' compliance as per Article 19 of Legislative Decree no. 81/2008;
• Methods of communication and interaction with company health and safety personnel.

MODULE: ASSESSMENT OF RISK SITUATIONS AND MONITORING OF WORKERS' PROPER EXECUTION OF ACTIVITIES

Learning objectives

• To familiarize participants with the health and safety risks for workers associated with the supervisor's operational context and related prevention and protection measures;
• To provide knowledge regarding the health and safety implications related to the management of service and temporary staffing contracts and their subcontracts;
• To illustrate the supervisor's operational and intervention procedures.

Module contents

• Technical, organizational, and procedural prevention and protection measures adopted following the company's risk assessment, with particular reference to the context in which the supervisor operates.
• Obligations related to procurement, service, and temporary staffing contracts;
• Management of interference risk and the DUVRI.
• Methods for overseeing and supervising work activities to ensure the implementation of received directives;
• The importance of identifying and reporting incidents and near misses.

At the end of the course, a test will be administered to verify the learning of the concepts taught. Passing this test will lead to the issuance of a certificate of achievement valid for five years, after which a refresher course will be required.
